How to Make Your Trade Show Advertising Fun







Standing out at a trade show can feel like an impossible task. Everyone who attends has access to the same arsenal you do, and depending on your budget, may even have more money to pump into their advertising. So how do you get ahead of the game and stand out from your competitors when exhibiting at a trade show? This blog post is going to look at some top tips on how to do just that.

Let’s play a game

It’s safe to say that many people exhibiting at the same event as you will be doing prize giveaways. For many companies, they simply provide the prize of the latest iPhone which might sound great but potentially not the best option. As one of the most popular phones in the UK, many of your stand visitors may already have an iPhone, so it’s time to think a little outside the box and offer something entirely unique.
No matter what it is – a year’s subscription to Netflix, £250 Amazon vouchers or even a mini motorbike – try and think about the visitors you want to engage with and provide a prize that syncs with their current needs. Additionally, instead of simply providing the giveaway, why not incorporate it into a game that requires participation from your stand visitors. If others at the event can see how much fun you are, they’re more likely to come over and take an interest.

Move away from what’s standard

You may have been offered a standard square metre of floor space in which to set up, and this could include a specific amount of advertising across several pop ups, tables or canvases. If you really want your advertising to come across as fun, you need to think about how you can utilise this space in a fresh and inspiring way.

Fun flags

It may seem a little unusual, but as we’ve already discussed, it’s the unusual that will make the biggest impression. Portable flags are a great tool for adding a bit of personality to your stand whilst still being able to advertise effectively. As well as lifting the atmosphere of your little area, flags are a great way to stand out from your competitors and create a memorable marker for those who are visiting the event - it’s easier to remember the stand with two portable flags as opposed to the one that doesn’t.
Not only are flags great for being memorable, lightening the mood and making you stand out, they’re also a perfect tool for catching the attention of visitors from across the room. It may be that your stand is restricted to a specific area and if so, you can use flags to advertise far and wide without coming across too salesy.
